hunting for trophies
Stalk it, shoot it, cut it, stuff it, hang it on the wall. The basic process of most trophy hunts. If you did not know where you stood on it before, from reading that information, you probably do now.
Killing anything for fun or pleasure is an open and shut case. It is either wrong or it is not. Yet it is not nearly as simple as that.
It is a particularly popular activity in some parts of Africa. As animals are hunted for trophies they are paid for by the hunters who kill them. If regulation is effective and how this revenue is spent are two issues at the core of the activity.
I spoke to African hunters, guides and locals who share their lands with trophy hunted animals. Perhaps what they have to say may change how you feel about the issue?
