At 8:15am on August 6th 1945 an atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in Japan. Three days later the same happened in the Japanese city of Nagasaki. Over 129,000 people were killed by the incident.
At 1:26am on 26th April 1986 the no. 4 reactor of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant overheated. Thousands of people are suspected to have been afflicted with cancer from the uncontained radiation.
Yet, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute, 30 countries are operating nearly 500 nuclear power stations worldwide, with 60 more under construction. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute claims nine countries hold 16,300 nuclear weapons, and more nations are attempting to be the tenth.

So why then would the CND dismantle them all? And, in a world of tenuous international relations and depleting fossil fuel supply, how does the CND intend to convince people that nuclear is not the answer?
